Food Service Worker – Macon YDC

About the role

The Food Service Worker will work under direct supervision to prepare, heat, and finish cooking food items while serving customers in a correctional facility setting. The role also includes handling cash transactions and maintaining a clean work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
• Clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances.
• Assist with food supply requisitions and conduct sanitation and maintenance inspections.
• Receive payment for food items and handle cash transactions.
• Replenish supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars.
• Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
• Unpack and store supplies, raw and prepared food products.

Required profile

• Equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or internship experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills.
