Food Pantry Youth Apprentice

About the role
We are looking for a Washington View resident to join our food pantry team as a Youth Apprentice. The role supports the Food Pantry Coordinator in daily operations, serving residents of the Washington View Apartments and the surrounding community.
Key responsibilities
- Manage inventory and monitor expiration dates.
- Schedule and supervise volunteers during operating hours.
- Coordinate food deliveries and restocking with NHT.
- Maintain pantry organization, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
- Process client intake and keep confidential records.
- Identify community nutritional needs and plan special holiday or seasonal distributions.
Required profile
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to community service.
- Comfortable lifting heavy items, stooping, kneeling, and standing for inventory tasks.
- Willingness to deliver food to households with mobility challenges.
Required skills
- Basic computer proficiency for record‑keeping.
What we offer
- Hourly wage of $22.50.
- Contract position through December 2026, approximately 11 hours per week.
