Focused Ion Beam (FIB) Technician III

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Focused Ion Beam (FIB) Technician III to support semiconductor and display wafer processing in a clean‑room environment. The role involves preparing samples, operating FIB equipment, and ensuring high‑quality lamella production for downstream analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare wafers and samples for FIB lamella making, including cleaning and loading into equipment.
• Operate and align the FIB system, execute pattern instructions, and perform routine maintenance such as flash and plasma cleaning.
• Perform software alignment functions, routine shutdown procedures, and coordinate repairs with engineering and vendors.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, order equipment, and support lab workflow to meet quality and throughput targets.

Required profile

• Physical ability to stand for long periods, work in tight spaces, and handle clean‑room PPE.
• Understanding of basic FIB principles and experience with TEM lamella preparation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with requestors and collaborate with engineering teams.
