Floating Lead Maintenance Technician

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Floating Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee the upkeep of its Tampa property. The role ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet the company’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Manage the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, creating punch lists, scheduling vendors, obtaining supplies and inspecting completed work.
• Track and retrieve maintenance supplies, tools and equipment, maintain inventory records and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.
• Adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, attending routine safety meetings.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical and technical issues and perform repairs in compliance with safety and code standards.
• Experience coordinating make‑ready processes and working with vendors and contractors.
• Strong organizational skills for inventory management and documentation.
• Commitment to safety procedures and participation in safety meetings.
