Fire Protection Technician

About the role

Ryan Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Protection Technician to install, repair, inspect and maintain fire protection systems and backflow prevention devices.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safety guidelines are followed on every job and wear approved uniform and PPE.
• Diagnose inspection/repair needs, offer solutions and complete required paperwork daily.
• Provide direction and training to fire protection apprentices on service calls.
• Troubleshoot minor electrical issues on sprinkler systems, including compressors, flow switches and tamper switches.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle, tools and equipment and communicate with dispatcher each day.
• Perform lifting, digging, ladder work and confined‑space entry as required.

Required profile

• Customer service skills with strong written and oral communication.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 60 lb (or 50 lb with assistance).
• Attention to detail, willingness to learn and adapt to change.
• Ability to work independently, follow established procedures and report on time.

Required skills

• Electrical troubleshooting of sprinkler systems (compressors, flow switches, tamper switches).
• Installation, repair, inspection and maintenance of fire protection systems.
• Maintenance of backflow prevention devices.
