About the role
Financial Analyst, FP&A is a high‑impact position within the Central Planning Organization of Applied Materials. The role supports financial and planning activities for the Semiconductor Business Group, providing analytics and insights to the Gross Margin Leadership Team.
Key responsibilities
- Own various cost‑improvement performance tracks reporting.
- Partner with Semiconductor Operations Executives to deliver analysis and recommendations.
- Perform Cost & Gross Margin analysis across multiple revenue and cost elements.
- Drive financial modeling and analysis to support Gross Margin reporting.
- Provide analysis for executive reviews including Strategy, Forecast, and Actuals.
- Develop and maintain a transparent, auditable cost‑tracking framework.
- Support quarterly forecast and annual operating plan processes.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages with variance commentary.
- Maintain and improve rolling forecast models.
- Develop dashboards and executive‑ready presentations.
- Lead efforts to streamline management reporting and centralize analytics.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in FP&A, Operations Finance, or Cost Accounting.
- Strong understanding of forecasting, budgeting, financial planning, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling.
- Experience with Tableau, Anaplan, and SAP BPC.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional, global environment.
- Excellent communication skills to translate data into business insights.
- Proven ability to distill complex analysis into actionable recommendations.
- Experience with large datasets and process automation tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI‑enabled finance tools and advanced analytics is a plus.
