Financial Aid Training & Development Specialist

About the role

The Financial Aid Training & Development Specialist supports Campus’s compliance and operations teams by designing, delivering, and maintaining training programs that ensure consistent application of federal regulations, institutional policies, and system functionalities. Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid Compliance, the role bridges regulatory requirements with day‑to‑day workflow needs, keeping training current and practical.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver onboarding and ongoing education for Financial Aid staff, including training on system enhancements such as SIS, COD, NSLDS, FAFSA Partner Portal, and Campuswire.
• Maintain training manuals, job aids, reference guides, and SOPs, ensuring version control and alignment with regulatory updates.
• Partner with Financial Aid Operations leadership to reflect workflow changes in training and support implementation of new processes.
• Monitor federal and state regulatory changes and incorporate them into training materials and staff development programs.
• Track training completion, evaluate effectiveness through feedback and quality reviews, and adjust programs accordingly.

Required profile

• Passion for learning and development, helping staff build knowledge and confidence.
• Strong understanding of Title IV financial aid regulations and ability to translate them into practical guidance.
• Collaborative mindset to work across Compliance, Operations, and Quality Assurance.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex topics clearly.
• Commitment to staying current with regulatory changes and industry best practices.

Required skills

• Experience with financial aid systems such as SIS, COD, NSLDS, FAFSA Partner Portal, and Campuswire.
• Proficiency in creating virtual instructor‑led training materials, job aids, and process documentation.
