About the role
The Scholarships & Financial Aid office at Texas A&M University provides students and families with information and resources to finance their education. The Financial Aid Advisor I counsels prospective and current students, families, donors, and campus partners on scholarships, grants, loans, and other aid programs.
Key responsibilities
- Advise students and families on financial aid options and eligibility, using multiple communication channels.
- Assist with reviewing and processing student aid files, adjusting data in Banner/Compass as needed.
- Coordinate scholarship applications, selections, notifications, and tracking for various campus programs.
- Support departmental events and financial‑aid awareness programs.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- No prior experience required; ability to learn federal, state and institutional aid policies.
- Ability to meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, and provide high‑quality customer service.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience or willingness to learn the Banner/Compass student information system.
