Financial Accountant II

About the role

The Financial Accountant II provides audit, check processing, and customer support for the disbursements function of Texas A&M AgriLife Research. This position ensures compliance with university, state, and federal purchasing regulations while assisting various department business offices.

Key responsibilities

• Audit accounts payable documents using AggieBuy and FAMIS, ensuring compliance with AgriLife, TAMU, state and federal rules.
• Produce and distribute daily checks.
• Provide customer support to department business offices, answering purchasing inquiries and resolving vendor discrepancies.
• Review the Oversight system for potential audit issues and coordinate resolutions with Disbursements.
• Assist Disbursements staff with additional duties as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least two years of accounting experience in a fiscal office, preferably with exposure to accounts payable and travel audit.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of AggieBuy (web‑based e‑Commerce system).
• Experience with Concur (e‑Travel and payment card system).
• Familiarity with FAMIS and USAS financial systems.
• Proficiency with standard word processing and spreadsheet applications.
