Finance Project Leader – 4-Wall

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Finance Project Leader for its Store Support Center. The role provides leadership of key finance projects and prepares economic and financial forecasts used in financial decision-making. It reports to the Senior Finance Manager and has no direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Project control (40%): develop a plan to control project scope, schedule and cost, monitor execution, coordinate documentation of changes to the baseline and ensure approved changes are implemented.
• Project communications (30%): communicate project information to the team and stakeholders, write status reports and scorecards, and present project review documents to senior leadership.
• Project risk assessment (10%): define project risks and mitigation approaches, monitor for risks and escalate or mitigate them, and advise the team and stakeholders.
• Project lessons learned (10%): capture lessons learned at the end of a project or phase and share them with peer Project Leaders.
• Project environment (10%): help maintain a good working environment, ensure teams are staffed and duties are understood, and keep an inclusive environment.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Preferred: prior experience in corporate finance and/or retail.
• Preferred: bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the job; no additional education or years of experience required.
• Preferred: ability to perform detailed analyses, create executive summaries, present and defend work to senior leadership, work independently and influence decisions of people you do not supervise.

Required skills

• Preferred: strong working knowledge of Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Preferred: MBAP certification.

Travel is typically under 10% overnight, and the work is mostly done sitting indoors in a comfortable setting.
