Finance & Accounting Analyst Intern

About the role

Scientech Research is seeking a Finance & Accounting Analyst Intern to join its quantitative trading team. This project‑based internship offers hands‑on experience at the intersection of fund accounting, finance operations, and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Rebuild and reconcile financial or holdings data, investigate breaks, and identify drivers of differences.
• Develop tools to detect errors in financial workbooks, such as inconsistent formulas, hard‑coded values, and broken links.
• Evaluate and prototype finance‑technology solutions including reconciliation, close management, AP automation, and document extraction.
• Research fund tax and operational processes, covering tax screening, exception management, and coordination with administrators, prime brokers, and advisers.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong interest in fund accounting, asset‑management finance or financial controls.
• Excellent attention to detail and willingness to investigate discrepancies.
• Analytical and problem‑solving mindset for open‑ended challenges.
• Proficiency in Excel and ability to organize work independently.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
