Field Service Technician Trainee – AMS

About the role

This trainee position will learn basic maintenance, troubleshooting, installation and commissioning of gas compression packages under direct supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, calibrate and monitor prime movers and rotating equipment such as compressors, generators, pumps and fans.
• Execute start‑up, shut‑down and operating procedures for compressors, electric motors, generators, instrumentation, valves and alarms.
• Troubleshoot engines, compressors, generators, pumps and related control components including governors, actuators, starters and voltage regulators.
• Perform oil and coolant analysis and rebuilds/overhauls of equipment as required.

Required profile

• No prior experience required; one year of applicable experience preferred.
• Ability to pass GE Waukesha GET certification and master data entry.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work under guidance of senior technicians.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of compressor and engine maintenance.
• Familiarity with air/fuel ratio controllers and emission control devices.
• Understanding of oil and coolant analysis procedures.
