Federal Work Study Tutoring Position

About the role

Join the State of Georgia’s workforce as a Federal Work‑Study Tutor at Athens Technical College. This part‑time, on‑campus role supports students through phone assistance, orientation, testing, and general clerical duties while you continue your studies.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls, make outbound calls, and respond to internal and external program inquiries.
• Assist with student orientations and testing sessions.
• Operate office equipment and perform basic computer work using Microsoft Office and internet research.
• Complete campus errands as needed and handle other assigned clerical tasks.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and maintaining that enrollment.
• Meet Federal Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements and have a completed FAFSA for the current aid year.
• Not be in default or owe repayment on any Federal aid program; financial‑aid file must be verified.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, work ethic, and an unmet financial need as defined by FAFSA guidelines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to conduct internet research and use basic office machines.

What we offer

• Compensation of $10.00 per hour, up to a maximum of 19.5 hours per week.
• No State of Georgia benefits are provided for this position.
