Fashion Designer – Prints & CAD Development

About the role

NYDJ is looking for a creative and highly organized Fashion Designer to support the design team with print creation, technical CAD development, and polished presentation preparation. The role also assists the denim design team, ensuring seasonal direction and product concepts are clearly communicated.

Key responsibilities

• Research seasonal trends and develop original print concepts aligned with NYDJ’s aesthetic.
• Create and curate print artwork, colorways, and repeats for tops, dresses, and specialty items.
• Prepare production‑ready print files and coordinate with vendors for strike‑offs and revisions.
• Develop accurate technical CADs and flat sketches, adding construction details, wash treatments, embellishments, and trim callouts.
• Maintain organized digital line sheets and style files.
• Assist in building seasonal design presentations, mood boards, trend pages, color stories, and product concept boards.
• Format presentations in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PowerPoint/Keynote to ensure they are on‑brand and visually compelling.
• Support denim design with wash inspiration, silhouette development, CAD creation, and sample review preparation.
• Collaborate with merchandising, product development, and sourcing teams to meet cost and margin goals.

Required profile

• Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in women’s apparel design.
• Strong eye for print design, color, trend, and detail.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Experience creating presentations in PowerPoint or Keynote.
• Technical CAD creation and flat sketching.
• Familiarity with PLM systems.
