Family/Internal Medicine Physician – Outpatient Role

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Medicine/Internal Medicine physician to join its downtown Lafayette primary‑care team. The position is 100% outpatient with limited call responsibilities and focuses on serving a diverse patient population, including many Medicaid beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary‑care services to adult and family patients in an outpatient setting.
• Utilize digital‑medicine tools to manage chronic conditions and improve patient engagement.
• Collaborate with LPN care coordinators, outpatient care managers, and a multidisciplinary specialist network to close care gaps.
• Participate in quality‑incentive programs and RVU‑based performance initiatives.
• Document care efficiently using the EPIC EMR system.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Experience delivering outpatient primary‑care, preferably with Medicaid populations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EPIC EMR.
• Ability to use digital‑medicine platforms for chronic‑disease management.
