Family Medicine Physician – Full‑Time Academic

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health System – Monroe Medical Center and LSU Health Sciences Center‑Shreveport are seeking a full‑time academic Family Medicine physician. The position combines patient care with teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students and offers a faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality primary care, treatment and diagnostic services to a diverse patient population.
• Teach and mentor Family Medicine residents and medical students, participating in curriculum development and clinical supervision.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, LPN care coordinators, and outpatient care managers to develop individualized care plans.
• Utilize digital medicine tools, remote messaging, and refill center resources to improve chronic disease management and reduce documentation burden.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine.
• Eligibility for active Louisiana medical licensure.
• Graduating Family Medicine residents are welcome to apply.
• Interest in academic medicine and a commitment to teaching.
