Facility Manager

About the role

This position oversees work management processes and asset management strategies. It manages a team responsible for facilities maintenance, including planning, scheduling, inventory control and special projects, and works closely with reliability and reliability engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement work management processes, including planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance activities.
• Ensure effective asset management, including lifecycle management, inventory control and accurate asset records.
• Collaborate with the Reliability Manager and reliability engineering team to align work management with reliability goals and to inform asset improvement strategies.
• Monitor work order performance metrics, track work order completion and report on efficiency and effectiveness.
• Supervise a staff performing facilities maintenance tasks, and hire, train, supervise and administer performance management for employees.
• Handle workplace conflicts, take timely disciplinary action where needed, and mentor team members.
• Conduct regular audits of asset data and support other facilities programs as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Facility Management, Industrial Technology or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Eight years of industrial facilities maintenance experience counts as equivalent experience with no education.
• 5+ years of facility operations and maintenance experience, including supervisory experience in a technical field.
• Staff management experience, including hiring, termination, disciplinary action and performance appraisals.
• Preferred: certification or training from facilities maintenance organizations such as IFMA, AFE or BOMA; experience in a GMP or similar regulated environment; preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance planning experience.

Required skills

• Experience using CMMS software.
• Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
• Preferred: CMMS Maximo Application Suite, writing processes and procedures, and continuous improvement techniques.
