Facilities Assistant - Veterinary Hospital

About the role

Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is looking for a Facilities Assistant in Brandon. The role keeps the veterinary hospital clean, safe and welcoming for patients, guests and the team, covering daily cleaning and sanitation, infection control support and basic facility upkeep.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize common areas such as lobbies, exam rooms, treatment areas, bathrooms and staff spaces, and keep floors clean through vacuuming, sweeping and mopping
• Clean windows, glass doors and reflective surfaces, and wash dishes and keep the kitchen and breakroom tidy
• Handle laundry throughout shifts, including washing, drying, folding and storing linens and towels
• Collect and dispose of trash properly, and keep exterior areas, walkways and the parking lot tidy
• Restock janitorial supplies with the Inventory Manager and assist with minor maintenance such as assembling furniture, hanging art and light repairs
• Report facility or equipment issues to leadership and carry out other tasks assigned
• Work with the Hospital Director on periodic infectious disease surveillance

Required profile

• Willingness and ability to learn cleaning, disinfection and sanitation protocols for a veterinary hospital
• Familiarity with basic animal care and handling
• Strong work ethic, compassionate, collaborative and professional attitude
• OSHA certification preferred
