Experienced RN – Surgery – Jefferson Highway

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide surgical patient care on Jefferson Highway. The RN will lead the delivery of care using the nursing process, adhering to the Nurse Practice Act, ANA standards, and Ochsner’s philosophy of nursing.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Assess learning needs and deliver teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Use data and evidence to drive improvements and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Adapt interactions to respect patient privacy, cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (RN license required in the state of practice).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing and certification in a clinical specialty area.
• No prior work experience required.
