About the role
The Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary‑General for Children and Armed Conflict (SRSG‑CAAC) is seeking an experienced Evaluation Consultant to assess a regional project aimed at protecting conflict‑affected children in Africa. The assignment is remote and requires availability during New York business hours.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the CAAC regional project covering objectives, methodology, results and lessons learned.
- Prepare an evaluation report that meets UN standards and supports future programme planning.
- Coordinate with OSRSG‑CAAC staff and regional partners to gather data, conduct interviews and verify findings.
- Present interim findings and final recommendations to senior UN officials as required.
Required profile
- Proven experience in evaluating UN‑type programmes or large‑scale development projects.
- Strong analytical and report‑writing skills, with ability to synthesize complex information.
- Familiarity with the UN Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism on grave violations against children.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
