Equipment Maintenance Technician – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join its Facilities department. You will be responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance on plant equipment, machines, and office facilities in a high‑tech aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine, periodic and special inspections to identify maintenance needs and prevent equipment breakdowns.
• Use hand and power tools, PLC and CNC systems, and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
• Move and rig heavy equipment, perform disassembly and assembly operations, and ensure proper placement of assets.
• Enter and retrieve work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and order required parts.
• Obtain and deliver materials needed for plant maintenance and support other duties as directed by leadership.

Required profile

• Experience troubleshooting electrical schematics and industrial automation equipment.
• Willingness and ability to work any shift, including nights and weekends.
• Workkeys Assessment completion OR a High School Diploma/GED.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and work at heights up to 40 feet, and to use required personal protective equipment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLC and CNC systems.
• Familiarity with Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or Fanuc automation platforms.
• Hands‑on experience using hand and power tools for equipment repair.
• Ability to navigate and update a CMMS.
