Entry-Level Civil Engineer – Municipal/Public Works

About the role

At Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF), we design, enhance, maintain and protect the communities we live in. This entry‑level civil engineering position focuses on planning, designing and overseeing municipal/public works projects such as water, wastewater, roadway and stormwater infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize design software and computer‑aided drafting to plan and design water, sanitary sewer, roadway, and stormwater projects.
• Assist municipalities with plan reviews, project planning and coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Prepare funding applications, reports, studies and grants for public works projects.
• Perform civil design analysis and calculations under supervisor review.
• Conduct construction administration duties, including procurement, submittals, pay requisitions and change‑order reviews.
• Coordinate permitting with local agencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure successful project completion.
