Engineering Technician

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the design, testing, and assembly of electro‑mechanical systems used in semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves hands‑on work in a fast‑paced environment, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure product performance and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, modify, and troubleshoot electronic and electro‑mechanical assemblies and test fixtures.
• Perform system‑level and component‑level testing on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum platforms.
• Document test procedures, compile logbooks, and generate technical reports.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow all safety protocols.
• Provide training and technical guidance to junior technicians and act as a quality lead when required.

Required profile

• Ability to work physically demanding tasks, including standing for long periods, lifting, and working in clean‑room environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface across functional teams.
• Commitment to safety standards and proactive reporting of hazards.
• Experience reviewing and improving manufacturing and engineering processes.
• Capability to serve as a technical resource for specific platforms or products.
