Engineering Technician III – Electro-Mechanical Systems

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Engineering Technician III to perform complex electro‑mechanical technical functions, including design, testing, fabrication, modification, and troubleshooting of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems for semiconductor and display equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, test, checkout, fabricate, modify, and assemble electronic and electro‑mechanical prototypes and specialized test equipment.
• Troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level electrical and mechanical issues, including new system installations and field upgrades.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process testing on AMAT platforms according to engineering documentation.
• Compile logbooks, test procedures, and documentation, and assist in revising department processes.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment, follow safety protocols, and report hazards promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of related experience in electro‑mechanical or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Physically able to stand for long periods, work in tight spaces, lift, and operate hand/power tools and forklifts.
• Willingness to work in a clean‑room environment using appropriate PPE such as coveralls, booties, and safety glasses.
• Strong written communication skills for documentation and logbook entries.
