Engineering Technician II – NPC (T2)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an NPC Engineering Technician II to support the design, testing, and assembly of electro‑mechanical systems for advanced semiconductor equipment. The role is based in Austin and offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge technology in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex electro‑mechanical design, testing, fabrication, modification and assembly of electronics and systems.
• Troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and vacuum issues with minimal supervision.
• Document test procedures, compile logbooks, write technical reports and assist in developing standard work instructions.
• Provide training to junior technicians and act as a technical resource for specific platforms.

Required profile

• Full understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes with strong interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work from limited documentation and solve difficult technical problems independently.
• Experience guiding junior team members and collaborating across functional lines.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical system design and assembly.
• Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and vacuum testing.
• Technical documentation and report writing.
• Troubleshooting of complex hardware and test equipment.
