Engineering Technician II

About the role

Parsons is seeking an Engineering Technician II to support the Federal Aviation Administration under the Technical Support Services Contract 5. The role involves field installation, modification, testing and maintenance of electronic systems that keep the National Airspace System operating safely.

Key responsibilities

• Install, relocate and remove navigation aids, communications and surveillance equipment according to schematics and FAA directives.
• Perform troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes and signal generators.
• Route, terminate, label and test coax, fiber and copper cables, and assist with system power‑up and functional testing.
• Document work in maintenance logs, service tickets and as‑built drawings, and follow safety, security and quality procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
• At least five years of experience with analog and digital electronics, RF communications equipment and standard test instruments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand for long periods and travel up to 100 % within the United States.
• Pass a federal background check and meet FAA security requirements.

Required skills

• Basic analog and digital electronics.
• Fundamentals of RF and communications equipment.
• Use of standard electronic test equipment (digital multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator).
• Reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
