Engineering Manager, Electronics

About the role

Radiant, a startup developing portable nuclear microreactors, is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its Electronics team. The team designs the electronics architecture for terrestrial reactor controls and will eventually support space‑based reactors. You will be the technical authority for custom hardware, from low‑noise analog front ends to high‑speed data conversion, DSP, and PCB design, guiding projects from requirements capture through field operation.

Key responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and manage a team of electrical engineers developing next‑generation reactor control systems.
• Own the electronic architecture for both terrestrial and future space reactors.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements for noise, accuracy, environmental robustness, and reliability.
• Lead acceptance and qualification testing of all in‑house PCB designs to ensure they meet specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing electrical engineers.
• 5+ years designing mixed‑signal, analog, or RF hardware.
• Proven track record of PCB design with low‑noise, impedance‑matched routing and robust connectors.

Required skills

• PCB design (preferably Altium).
• Low‑noise analog front‑end design.
• High‑speed data conversion and DSP.
• Industrial signal handling (4‑20 mA, RTD, thermocouples, resolvers).
• High‑speed, sensitive signal design.
• Digital interfaces: SPI, I²C, CAN, Ethernet, RS‑422.
• EMI/EMC best practices and mitigation strategies.
