Engineering Manager – AI Cloud Optimization

About the role

We’re seeking a hands‑on Engineering Manager to lead and grow our engineering team as we scale an AI‑powered cloud optimization platform. The role combines technical leadership—architecting and coding—with people management, working closely with the founding team and cross‑functional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and scale the engineering team from 10 to 20+ engineers, including hiring and team structuring.
• Stay hands‑on with architecture and development, delivering scalable, performant systems across AI, infrastructure, and cloud services.
• Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to translate strategy into execution.
• Mentor and develop engineers at all levels, fostering an inclusive, high‑performing culture.
• Shape engineering culture, tooling, and practices as the organization grows.

Required profile

• 7+ years of total engineering experience with 5+ years in a managerial or technical leadership role.
• Experience as a CTO, Engineering Lead, or similar at a company with $5M–$30M+ ARR.
• Proven track record scaling engineering teams of 10–15+ members and building backend systems used by thousands of users.
• Product‑mindset, data‑driven decision making, and strong communication skills.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast‑moving startup environment; Series A or growth‑stage experience a plus.

Required skills

• Strong backend and infrastructure expertise.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Understanding of AI/ML applications in cloud or infrastructure optimization.
