Engineering Field Service Technician

About the role

HavocAI is looking for an Engineering Field Service Technician to support the deployment, maintenance, and sustainment of its uncrewed surface vessel (USV) fleet. The position is hands‑on, requiring strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, communications, and system domains, and involves extensive travel across the United States and occasional international trips.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites, test ranges, and demonstration events to perform on‑site maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of USVs and related subsystems.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical system maintenance, replace components, and execute corrective actions to keep vehicles mission‑ready.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, communications, and system‑level issues in the field, working with engineering teams on temporary fixes and long‑term solutions.
• Install new subsystems, hardware modifications, and software updates on deployed vehicles.
• Support sea trials, system tests, demonstrations, and operational evaluations, documenting results and providing feedback to improve reliability.
• Prepare equipment, spare parts, tools, and service kits; maintain accurate service records, inventory, and maintenance logs.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in field service, mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, or related engineering roles.
• Willingness to travel extensively (U.S. and occasional international).
• Ability to work in demanding maritime and test environments and represent the company professionally.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
