About the role

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center is a high‑volume tertiary referral center seeing over 75,000 visits per year. As an academic faculty member you will join a rapidly expanding team that values compassionate, inclusive care and is dedicated to resident education and scholarly growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality emergency clinical care in a busy tertiary hospital.
• Participate in residency education, including teaching, mentorship, and curriculum development.
• Lead or contribute to specialty divisions such as Simulation, EMS, Ultrasound, Quality & Patient Safety, and Operations.
• Engage in research activities and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Board certified or board‑eligible in Emergency Medicine (American Board of Emergency Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine).
• Fellowship‑trained or additional niche training in areas such as Simulation, EMS, Ultrasound, Quality & Patient Safety, or Operations.
• Demonstrated passion for residency education and commitment to diversity and excellence.
