Elementary Teacher Associate – 5th Grade

About the role

The Elementary Teacher Associate supports lead teachers in a 5th‑grade classroom, helping deliver a student‑centered instructional program aligned with California standards. This full‑time, on‑site position runs the 2026‑27 school year with a 10.5‑month calendar.

Key responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers with daily lessons, project‑based learning, and inquiry exploration.
• Provide in‑class academic support and small‑group instruction for diverse learners.
• Reinforce foundational literacy and mathematics skills through guided practice.
• Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and specials, promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
• Document student learning, prepare classroom materials, and cover short‑term classroom needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (preferred).
• Valid California Teaching Credential or Substitute Permit (preferred).
• Experience with targeted intervention, MTSS framework, or youth settings (strongly preferred).

Required skills

• Knowledge of California standards and instructional foundations in literacy and mathematics.
• Ability to support small‑group and differentiated instruction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families.
