About the role

Join Cowboy Space Corp. as an Electrical Engineering Intern and contribute to the design and testing of cutting‑edge satellite systems. You will work hands‑on in labs and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance space‑based power and data infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and test RF/optical communication components.
• Perform spacecraft and launch vehicle analysis, including thermal modeling and mechanical design.
• Develop firmware and software for avionics, compute, and ground systems.
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot hardware and subsystems.
• Layout PCBs, create electrical designs, and integrate satellite components.
• Assist with propulsion system design, fluids analysis, and structural mechanics.
• Conduct data analysis, CAD modeling, and produce technical documentation.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate STEM program (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Materials Science).
• Strong fundamentals in mathematics, physics, and engineering.
• Hands‑on lab experience and comfort working with test equipment.
• Collaborative, self‑directed work style with the ability to learn quickly.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency to meet ITAR requirements.

Required skills

• CAD tools: SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo.
• Simulation and analysis: MATLAB, Python, STK.
• RF, thermal, and electrical system knowledge.
• PCB layout and electrical integration.
• Test equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters.
• Firmware/software development for avionics.
