Electrical Engineer III (E3)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to design, develop, and improve the electronic equipment that powers semiconductor and display manufacturing tools. The role involves creating schematics, layouts, and control architectures, as well as building and qualifying prototypes for new product releases.

Key responsibilities

• Define and design complex electrical components, modules, and subsystems, ensuring compliance with market requirement specifications.
• Lead architecture brainstorming sessions, evaluate design alternatives, and select optimal subsystem solutions.
• Build and qualify prototypes or procure subsystems from suppliers, testing for compliance with detailed specifications.
• Identify and troubleshoot difficult engineering problems, supporting manufacturability and serviceability.
• Provide system integration support during assembly and final testing, and perform reliability testing against industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a system design engineer in semiconductor equipment.
• Demonstrated depth or breadth of expertise in system engineering and control architecture design.
