About the role

Lead the Cell Press journal Device, shaping its editorial vision and driving its growth as a premier venue for applied research across physics, engineering, computer science and more.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the journal’s aims, scope, priorities and formats to keep it impactful and topical.
• Manage the in‑house editorial team and oversee rigorous evaluation of submissions.
• Leverage a global network of leading researchers to attract high‑quality article submissions.
• Travel extensively to engage with the research community, attend conferences and visit institutes.
• Develop partnerships with other Cell Press editorial teams and contribute to overall publishing strategy.

Required profile

• Proven research expertise and a broad interest across the journal’s interdisciplinary scope.
• Deep international network of researchers and demonstrated ability to influence and engage them.

Required skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Extensive editorial experience (valued).
