Editorial Intern – Remote (West Coast Preference)

About the role

Charter, the sister news organization to The San Francisco Standard, is seeking a motivated Editorial Intern to support its mission of delivering insightful media and events. This remote position, with a preference for West Coast candidates, offers hands‑on experience writing, researching, and helping produce newsletters and event content.

Key responsibilities

• Write short articles and aggregation pieces for both free and paid newsletters.
• Assist in weekly newsletter production and editorial workflow.
• Research story ideas, potential speakers, and attendees for events and webinars.
• Contribute to other editorial projects as needed to improve operations.

Required profile

• Fast, clean, and accurate writer with strong editorial instincts.
• Ability to monitor social and media outlets, verify facts, and spot relevant angles.
• Strong verbal communication and collaborative mindset.
• Coachability, organization, resourcefulness, and low ego with high ambition.
