About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking an Economic Empowerment Specialist to support Limited-English-Proficient clients in Alameda County. You will guide refugees and other vulnerable individuals through employment services, financial education, and public benefits to achieve self-sufficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct introductory calls, orientations, appraisals and assessments for LEP, VESL and ES clients.
- Collect and record onboarding documents, county-specific forms and self-sufficiency plans.
- Enroll clients in VESL and Employment Services activities and coordinate with adult schools and social-adjustment agencies.
- Monitor monthly participation, ensure compliance with IRC and county requirements, and submit accurate reports.
- Provide one-on-one job coaching, employment preparation and resource navigation.
- Collaborate with Alameda County Employment Counselors, partner schools and internal IRC departments.
Required profile
- Solutions-driven, passionate about helping vulnerable populations.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work with Limited-English-Proficient clients and understand CalWORKs, RCA, CalFresh Employment & Training programs.
- Experience in client intake, assessment and case planning preferred.
