Eco-Schools Coordinator

About the role

The Eco-Schools Coordinator will lead the implementation of the Eco‑Schools program across public schools on St. Thomas and St. John. Working closely with the Virgin Islands Conservation Society, the coordinator will develop curriculum resources, engage students and staff, and foster partnerships that advance environmental literacy.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and recruit participating schools and maintain ongoing communication with school administrators, teachers, and students.
• Develop and deliver educational activities, workshops, and training sessions that align with the Eco‑Schools framework.
• Serve as the primary liaison between VICS, the Department of Education, and local sustainability partners.
• Coordinate the Eco‑Schools Project Advisory Committee and support schools in tracking progress toward certification.
• Provide resources, guidance, and troubleshooting to help schools integrate sustainability practices into daily operations.

Required profile

• Passion for environmental education and community outreach.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities.
• Experience working with K‑12 schools or youth programs is preferred.
• Flexibility to attend occasional weekend or evening events.
