Early Career Product Engineer

About the role

HighlightAI is building a shared intelligence layer for modern teams, unifying context across people and tools. We are looking for an early‑career product engineer who loves building, shipping, and learning quickly while working across the full stack.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship product features across the stack, from user‑facing experiences to backend systems.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to translate ambiguous user problems into simple, useful experiences.
• Own end‑to‑end product pieces: define problems, propose solutions, implement, measure impact and iterate.
• Work with AI and ML systems to create context‑aware features that proactively assist users.
• Contribute to areas such as context storage and retrieval, desktop experiences, integrations, and AI‑powered workflows.
• Help establish engineering practices and systems that enable a small team to move quickly while maintaining quality.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of software engineering experience or equivalent independent projects.
• Strong fundamentals and ability to write clean, maintainable code.
• Demonstrated curiosity with side projects, open‑source contributions, or personal apps.
• Comfortable learning unfamiliar technologies quickly and working across the full stack.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and turn open‑ended problems into concrete solutions.
• Bias toward action: enjoy building, shipping, receiving feedback and iterating.
