Donation Pickup Laborer

About the role

Cornerstone Support Services, a non-profit thrift-store organization, is looking for a dependable Donation Pickup Laborer. The role involves collecting, loading, and unloading donated items, handling heavy furniture, and providing courteous service to donors and customers. You will also support store operations by assisting with furniture setup and customer assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the driver in picking up donations from various locations.
• Load and secure heavy furniture and multiple boxes onto the trailer.
• Provide tax-deductible donation forms to donors and ensure positive interaction.
• Unload donations at the store and help with sorting and staging.
• Move and arrange furniture within the store as directed.
• Help customers load purchased furniture into their vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of loading/unloading areas.
• Assist throughout the store, including the donation drop-off area.

Required profile

• Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 75 lb.
• Experience with furniture handling and loading preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
