Dispensing Optician

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Dispensing Optician to join our Vision Express store in Boston, East Midlands. You will work directly with customers to provide personalised eyewear solutions, using premium brands such as Ray‑Ban, Oakley and Prada, while supporting the retail team to deliver expert eye‑care.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and verify optical prescriptions and maintain accurate patient records.
• Advise customers on frame and lens selections, fitting and adjustments.
• Prepare and dispense spectacles and contact lenses in line with industry standards.
• Manage specific eye‑care conditions such as dry eye and myopia where relevant.
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest optical trends, regulations and product ranges.
• Collaborate with the sales team to achieve store targets and provide exceptional customer service.

Required profile

• Approved qualification to practise as a Dispensing Optician in the UK.
• Registered with the General Optical Council.
• Solution‑focused with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with customers.
• Commitment to health and safety and data protection standards.

Required skills

• Understanding of optical prescriptions.
• Familiarity with optical lenses and frames.
