Director, Supplier Account Manager

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Director, Supplier Account Manager to lead commodity strategy and supplier relationships for its semiconductor and display equipment business. The role will oversee supplier performance, cost reduction, and new supplier introductions, ensuring alignment with the product lifecycle process.

Key responsibilities

• Develops, aligns and implements commodity strategies.
• Negotiates and manages agreements with suppliers that structure all business relationships.
• Engages with the PLC process to ensure alignment with commodity strategies.
• Directs new supplier introduction and disengagement requirements.
• Drives resolution of systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead‑time.
• Develops and presents high‑level cost reduction opportunities.
• Approves and manages Supplier Performance Improvement Plans.
• Conducts formal supplier performance reviews.

Required profile

• Broad and comprehensive understanding of different systems, theories and practices.
• Strong industry and commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance.
• Leadership of subordinate managers of managers and contribution to segment strategy.
• Advanced analytical problem‑solving for highly complex business issues.
• Ability to negotiate and influence senior executives and external organizations.
