Director, Revenue Controls

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Director of Revenue Controls to own the accounting control environment for the order‑to‑cash cycle. You will partner with Accounting, Systems, and Internal Audit to drive SOX 404 compliance and ensure reliable revenue recognition across subscription, consumption, and partner channels.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first‑line control owner for order‑to‑cash and revenue business process controls, including design, documentation, execution, and evidence collection.
• Maintain up‑to‑date process narratives, SOPs, and maps for the order‑to‑cash cycle.
• Partner with Billing, AR & Collections, Deal Desk, and Revenue Accounting to keep process definitions current.
• Design and influence controls over usage capture, contract‑to‑billing accuracy, invoice completeness, cash application, and credit/adjustment approvals.
• Identify and treat key reports and Information Produced by the Entity (IPE) for completeness and accuracy.
• Collaborate with Revenue Technology and Internal Audit on IT‑dependent and automated controls, including interface, reconciliation, and configuration change governance.
• Work with third‑party service providers to obtain relevant SOC 1 reports and assess related risks.
• Support Internal Audit in scoping, walkthroughs, and testing of revenue controls.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with strong judgment and experience in revenue accounting controls.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence process design.
• Experience working toward SOX 404 compliance and interacting with external auditors.
• Proven track record of partnering with internal audit, finance, and technology stakeholders.
