Director of Technology – Wafer Cleaning

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Director of Technology to lead research, development and implementation of post‑chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) cleaning products. You will drive innovative solutions for complex wafer‑cleaning challenges and shape the long‑term technology strategy for the CMP Product Business Group.

Key responsibilities

• Direct process technology for the development and commercialization of post‑CMP cleaning products.
• Manage complex scientific applications and provide technical leadership for product performance and yield improvement.
• Benchmark our cleaning solutions against competitor offerings and semiconductor wafer‑cleaning standards.
• Define performance metrics, maintain product roadmaps, and report progress against strategic goals.
• Lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior executives and external customers.

Required profile

• More than 10 years of experience in wafer‑cleaning processes at a leading semiconductor equipment manufacturer or fab.
• Broad understanding of the semiconductor wet‑cleaning industry and state‑of‑the‑art product offerings.
• Proven ability to solve highly complex technical and business problems with advanced analytical judgment.
• Strong leadership skills, including direct management of sub‑ordinates and influence across functional teams.

• Semiconductor wet‑cleaning technology expertise.
• Post‑CMP cleaning process development and optimization.
• Knowledge of particle adhesion, removal mechanisms and corrosion of advanced metals.
