Director of Strategic Meetings & Congresses

About the role

Veeva Systems is a fast‑growing SaaS leader in life‑sciences cloud solutions. As Director of Strategic Meetings & Congresses you will lead a high‑performing event planning team that designs and executes advisory boards, investigator meetings, speaker trainings and major congresses for healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard and manage a team of event planners, overseeing daily operations, workload allocation and SLA compliance.
• Partner with the Director of Strategy & Business Development to design and launch operational frameworks for home‑office organized HCP events and major congresses.
• Serve as the operational anchor for Customer Account Teams, driving new large‑event initiatives and participating in Quarterly Business Reviews.
• Vet, onboard and govern third‑party event technologies, agencies and vendors to build a scalable outsourced support network.
• Direct event budgets, financial reporting, risk escalation and compliance protocols across all programs.

Required profile

• 8+ years of progressive operational leadership in pharmaceutical/biotech companies or top‑tier healthcare marketing agencies.
• 3+ years of experience recruiting, developing and leading high‑performing event planning teams.
• Proven track record delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining flawless SLA standards.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience collaborating with strategy, sales and account leadership.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with enterprise event platforms such as Vault Events Management, Cvent or other virtual event solutions.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
