About the role
The Director of Quality leads AdventHealth’s quality management initiatives, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and CMS standards while driving continuous improvement across clinical and operational functions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and continuously improve an ISO 9001‑compliant quality management system and a CMS‑compliant Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Maintain uninterrupted accreditation and certification status, meeting all reporting requirements.
- Lead the Document Control & Knowledge Management program in partnership with senior leadership.
- Coordinate quality governance committees, including Clinical Performance, Board Patient Safety and Quality, and QAPI.
- Manage the Quality Systems department’s budget, strategic priorities, and communication plans.
- Partner with senior clinical and medical leaders to prioritize and plan quality system initiatives.
- Assist the Chief Safety Officer in shaping quality, risk, safety, and transformation strategies.
- Serve as the organization‑wide content expert on quality systems, advising senior leaders and quality staff.
- Identify system improvement opportunities through ongoing assessments and communicate findings to leadership.
- Oversee the peer review department, coordinating with data analytics for credentialing and periodic reviews.
- Design and maintain organizational structure, recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating staff to achieve goals.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in Medical Records, Health Information Management, Nursing, or Health Administration.
- Extensive experience in healthcare quality management and accreditation processes.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage large‑scale quality initiatives.
- Strong analytical, communication, and strategic planning skills.
