Director of Operations, Master Control Hub (Tech)

About the role

The Director of Operations leads the 24/7/365 Master Control Hub for Gray Media, reporting to the Senior Director of Centralcast. This senior position oversees broadcast performance, efficiency, and team culture while ensuring high‑quality output across all streams and platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day direction for all Centralcast Hub Master Control operations, guaranteeing continuous, high‑quality broadcast delivery.
• Lead four direct reports—three shift‑based Master Control Managers and one Manager of Content and Ingest—creating a unified team with shared goals.
• Partner closely with the Director of Technology to align operational needs with technical capabilities.
• Maintain a visible, hands‑on presence on the floor, leading by example and engaging staff at all levels.
• Foster consistent communication, shared standards, and unified execution across all shifts and functions.

Required profile

• Seasoned broadcast television operations professional with extensive Master Control experience.
• Strong people‑management skills and a hands‑on leadership style.
• Ability to command technical respect, communicate clearly, and develop team members like a teacher.
