Director of Operations, Children's Congenital Heart Program

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a dynamic operational leader to serve as Director of Clinical Operations for the Children’s Congenital Heart Program. This senior role will drive the continued expansion of the program and support its evolution into a nationally recognized pediatric cardiovascular destination center. Reporting within the ambulatory operations structure, the Director will oversee both outpatient and inpatient services across Louisiana and Mississippi.

Key responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence across all aspects of the congenital heart service line.
• Lead strategic planning and support regional growth initiatives.
• Develop, manage and monitor budgets while maintaining financial accountability.
• Utilize data, analytics and market intelligence for business planning and decision‑making.
• Build scalable operational infrastructure to support future program expansion.
• Partner with physician leaders to optimize patient access, care coordination and service delivery.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency, quality improvement and performance enhancement.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; Master’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of healthcare experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience in pediatric healthcare operations, specifically congenital heart or cardiovascular service lines.
• Background spanning both ambulatory and inpatient settings, with exposure to cardiovascular surgery, cath lab, imaging and critical care.
• Willingness to travel between facilities and work flexible hours.
