Director of Financial Services (University Controller)

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a collaborative, analytical, and service‑oriented finance leader to serve as Director of Financial Services (University Controller). Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance, this senior administrator will oversee the university’s core financial operations and ensure fiscal integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall oversight of accounting, payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets, and financial reporting functions.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and maintain strong internal controls.
• Lead the finance team in delivering accurate, timely financial information to support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Promote a culture of operational excellence and high‑quality customer service across the finance department.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities aligned with the university’s mission.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience, preferably in a higher‑education environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex financial operations and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and collaborative skills.
