Director of Finance – Large Full-Service Hotel

About the role

A prominent 700‑room full‑service hotel in Pittsburgh is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead financial operations and act as a strategic partner to the General Manager and executive team.

Key responsibilities

• Direct all accounting and financial activities, provide strategic advice, and translate results into actionable insights.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning, monitoring performance against targets.
• Oversee preparation of financial statements, month‑end and year‑end closings, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Establish and audit internal controls, manage revenue and cash processes, and supervise accounts payable/receivable and payroll.
• Analyze departmental profitability, support cost‑control initiatives, and prepare reports for ownership and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years progressive hotel finance experience, including at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field; CPA, CMA or similar designation preferred.
• Proven ability to manage large, complex hotel operations with rooms, F&B, banquets and conventions.
• Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills with a focus on integrity and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with hotel accounting systems.
• Expert use of spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel).
• Experience with financial‑reporting tools and internal‑control frameworks.
