Director of Data and Analytics

About the role

Second Front Systems is building a centralized data and analytics function from the ground up. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will own the full data lifecycle—from integration and architecture to business intelligence, reporting, and analysis—while acting as a hands‑on player‑coach.

Key responsibilities

• Architect the company’s data warehouse, cloud platform, pipelines, data models, and BI infrastructure to replace ad‑hoc reporting with reliable, reusable assets.
• Establish governance, definitions, and lineage for company KPIs, ensuring metrics survive audit and investor scrutiny.
• Build automated, recurring dashboards and operating reviews for department leaders, executives, the board, and investors.
• Synchronize data across ERP, CRM, planning, spend management, HRIS, product telemetry, contracts, and third‑party sources.
• Hire, onboard, and develop a high‑performing analytics team as the business scales.

Required profile

• 8+ years in data, analytics, or business intelligence, with at least 3 years leading a function or company‑wide data initiative.
• Proven experience building an analytics capability from zero to one in a fast‑growing environment.
• Strong track record designing data‑governance frameworks that enforce metric definitions across finance, sales, and engineering.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL.
• Experience with modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift).
• Proficiency with transformation frameworks such as dbt.
• Hands‑on with BI platforms (Looker, Power BI, Tableau, Sigma).
• Python or R for advanced analysis.
